On Thursday, November 16 at 7 pm, the Washington County Public Library will host local author Julie Zickefoose for an illustrated talk at the Campus Martius Museum.

In this illustrated talk, she will share the books that inspired her to become a writer and illustrator and discuss the 13-year process of creating her illustrated magnum opus, Baby Birds: An Artist Looks Into the Nest. Find out how Julie spent most of the summer of 2023, and meet the comical, winsome, keenly intelligent Carolina wrens who ruled her days.

Julie Zickefoose is the Advising Editor of the newly re-launched, full-size, Marietta-born BWD Magazine. She’s the author and illustrator of Natural Gardening for Birds, Letters from Eden, The Bluebird Effect, Baby Birds, and Saving Jemima. She was voted the MOV’s “Best Local Author” in 2022.
