Marietta Rolls Out the Red Carpet for Hemmings Motor News Great Race Stop on June 23rd
Marietta, OH – The Hemmings Motor News Great Race, America’s premiere old car rally, is making an exclusive overnight stop in Marietta, Ohio, on Sunday, June 23rd. The historic town of Marietta is pulling out all the stops to welcome participants and visitors from all over the region for this exciting event.
On the day of the Great Race, Marietta will be buzzing with excitement and activity. The town is rolling out the red carpet for visitors and participants, offering a warm welcome and a host of special events. Retail shops and restaurants will be open, and Second Street will host an impressive car and motorsports show from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The downtown area will feature a Kids Zone on the Armory Lawn with family-friendly activities and food vendors, creating a festive atmosphere for all to enjoy while waiting for the Great Race cars to arrive at the finish line on Front Street around 4:00 pm. The Great Race cars will then be parked and displayed on Front Street until 8:00 pm, allowing enthusiasts to get an up-close look at these vintage vehicles.
As part of the festivities, the Marietta Convention and Visitor Bureau has launched the Great Race Raffle. Every purchase made at participating downtown retail shops and restaurants enters you into a drawing for a grand prize gift basket. This exclusive basket includes an overnight stay in Marietta, Marietta swag, tickets to local attractions, and $500 in Marietta Bucks from the Chamber of Commerce. In addition, there will be two runner up gift baskets given away. The drawing will take place the Tuesday after the race live on the Great Race of Marietta and the Visit Marietta Facebook pages.
