SUMMARY:One Vote! The Musical
DESCRIPTION:“One Vote! – The Musical” is an original work by Larry Gr
 oce and Todd Burge that tells the story of the New England settlers who fo
 unded Marietta\, Ohio\, where the Muskingum meets the Ohio River\, and how
  the decisions and developments of 1786-1820\, helped shape our nation. Th
 e One Vote! cast by Ephraim Cutler secured Ohio’s entry into the Union a
 s a free state. The play features Cutler\, “Father of the Territory”\,
  Rufus Putnam\, and other historical figures\, alongside fictional charact
 ers\, including the lead female role\, settler Abigail Worthy. Dialogue in
  One Vote! explores the roles of frontier women as well as the struggles a
 nd resilience of Native peoples and African Americans of the era. With a d
 ynamic music mix of pop\, rock\, Americana\, and folk\, One Vote! blends h
 umor\, heart\, and history to celebrate the birth of democracy in the Nort
 hwest Territory. The Northwest Territory Museum Society serves as Executiv
 e Producer of the project. The production brings a powerful piece of Marie
 tta and Northwest Territory history to the stage in America’s 250th year
