DESCRIPTION:\n\nPresentation:        Wayne Motts\, author\, historian 
 and Executive Director of the National Civil War Museum\, Harrisburg\, Pe
 nnsylvania\, will present “Buckeyes and Mountaineers at Gettysburg”. 
           \n\n\n\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n\n\n\nWayne Motts is one of the most p
 opular and widely recognized historians in the U.S. today associated with 
 the American Civil War and\, particularly\, the Battle of Gettysburg.   
 Mr. Motts is currently Executive Director of the National Civil War Museum
  in Harrisburg\, PA.   His observations will include an overview of the 
 battle and accounts of notable contributions made by individuals and regim
 ents from both Ohio and West Virginia in the critical outcome of one of th
 e Civil War’s largest and most important battles.  \n\nThe National Ci
 vil War Museum opened in 2001 and today operates more than 65\,000 square 
 feet of space with more than 21\,000 square feet dedicated to exhibit and 
 education space.   The museum owns more than 25\,000 artifacts associate
 d with both sides in the conflict.  Motts also served as Executive Direct
 or and Historian of The Gettysburg Foundation from 2021-2025.  He is one 
 of the youngest people ever to pass the rigorous written and oral examinat
 ions required to become a Licensed Battlefield Guide at Gettysburg Nationa
 l Military Park and has led countless groups throughout the famous battlef
 ield for more than 27-years.  He has spoken to numerous historical organi
 zations on a wide range of topics related to Gettysburg and the Civil War 
 including the Smithsonian Institution in Washington\, D.C.\n\nIn addition 
 to his busy travel and presentation schedule\, Mr. Motts is the foremost a
 uthority on Confederate General Lewis Armistead of Pickett’s Charge fame
  and has published the only biography on the general entitled “Trust in 
 God and Fear Nothing:  Lewis A. Armistead\, C.S.A.”  He also served as
  the research historian for renowned Civil War artist Dale Gallon and supp
 orted the development of more than 40 pieces of Mr. Gallon’s fine art. 
  While serving as Executive Director of the Adams County (Pennsylvania) Hi
 storical Society in Gettysburg\, he led the restoration of the Lutheran Th
 eological Seminary and Schmucker Hall on the Gettysburg battlefield.  The
  seminary building is regarded as one of the nation’s most significant s
 tanding Civil War structures. \n\nMr. Motts is a native of central Ohio\,
  graduated from Ohio State University with a B.A. in military history and 
 earned a Master’s Degree in American history from Shippensburg Universit
 y in Pennsylvania. Perhaps most importantly\, he is widely appreciated for
  his energetic and passionate presentation style that is infectious in dev
 eloping interest and curiosity among all in his audience.  This is an edu
 cation program that no one with an interest in the Civil War or American H
 istory will want to miss!\n\nAs always\, the public is welcomed and there 
 is no cost to attend.  Small donations will be collected to defray a port
 ion of the cost of the event.  This presentation is made possible by a ma
 tching grant from the Ohio Arts Council and the collaborative efforts of 
 Knights of Columbus Council # 478.\n\nThe event will begin at 7:00 p.m. on
