SUMMARY:Discovering History – Ohio Cemeteries 101
DESCRIPTION:Krista Horrocks of the State Historic Preservation Office (and 
 the Ohio History Connection’s resident cemetery expert) will discuss “
 all things Ohio cemetery-related” in this overview of some of our state
 ’s finest cultural resources. This presentation will include how to unde
 rstand cemeteries as defined in Ohio Revised Code\, how to research cemete
 ries\, and how to document gravestones. This presentation also includes in
 formation on proper gravestone recording techniques and how you can learn 
 more about cemetery preservation.\n\nKrista Horrocks works as Department M
 anager of SHPO Administration for Ohio’s State Historic Preservation Off
 ice (SHPO) at the Ohio History Connection (OHC)\, where she manages a team
  of administrators\, grant managers\, GIS coordinators\, and database mana
 gers in the support of all program areas for the SHPO. She also serves as 
 OHC’s cemetery preservationist\, where she works providing research supp
 ort\, guidance\, and presentations on all-things-Ohio-cemetery-related.\n\
