 sland Commemoration and a historical marker dedication ceremony to honor t
 he role of the Marietta Militia at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday\, July 26\, 2026
 \, at the Buffington Island Battlefield Memorial Park\, 56797 SR-124\, Por
 tland\, Ohio 45770. The event will feature the annual 1863 battle commemor
 ation\, period music\, presentations by historians on the significance of 
 the battle and the role of the Marietta Militia\, and a cannon salute foll
 owed by a community picnic. The event is free and open to the public. The
