  Victorian inspired tea and an engaging discussion of historical gardening
  and planting practices! Our tea menu will combine historical tea-time tre
 ats with tastes that celebrate the season. This year we’ll learn about c
 ottage gardens from researcher and gardening aficionado Rebecca Phillips. 
 Rebecca will share information about the history of “cottage gardens\,
 ” their representation in art and literature\, how to plant your own\, a
 nd their environmental benefits.\n\nCost: $25 per Person. Reservations req
 uired by May 1st.\n\nBUY TICKETS\nABOUT THE SPEAKER: REBECCA PHILLIPS\n\n\
 n \n\nRebecca Phillips is retired from the West Virginia University at Par
 kersburg English department\, where one of her research interests was 19th
 -century women’s nature writing. A lover of antique roses who once grew 
 multiple varieties\, she has since abandoned any high-maintenance plants i
 n favor of those that would have thrived in Victorian cottage gardens. Tod
 ay\, Rebecca is an enthusiastic habitat gardener and serves on the coordin
 ating committees of the Historic Harmar Bridge Company Butterfly Garden an
 d the Fort Street Pollinator Habitat. Some day she hopes to see poet Celia
  Thaxter’s restored Victorian garden on Appledore Island.\n\nPLEASE NOTE
