Children’s Toy and Doll Museum, located at 206 Gilman Ave. Marietta, OH provides a glimpse into the past of what entertained and educated children in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Open May to Oct. Saturday’s & Sunday’s from 1-4. Admission: Adults $4, Children $2, Immediate Family Members $10. Group Tours of 10 or more may be arranged by calling the museum. Free Parking
The museum houses nine rooms displaying antique and vintage doll collections which include Madame Alexander dolls, Kewpie dolls, Barbie dolls and GI Joe model dolls, miniature houses, as well as larger models of fairy tale homes such as the Ole’ Woman in the Shoe model and a Hansel and Gretel Gingerbread Doll House. You will find handmade scale models of circus wagons, replicas of city landmarks, and antique toys and games of yesteryear. The museum provides a Children’s Playroom for our young visitors. Visitors to our museum will also have an opportunity to tour a Presidential and First Lady Library, a Circus Room, and an International Doll Room. This season, visitors will get an opportunity to view new displays which will include: A Disneyanna Exhibit, Gone With The Wind Dolls and Miniature Architectural Building Collection, Princess Diana Royal Wardrobe Collection, Antique and Vintage Trucks Exhibit, Wind Up Toy Display, Rural Tractor Collection, Presidential Pez Collection, a newly redecorated Christmas and Transportation room. The museum is truly a hidden treasure, displaying toys, doll collections, and memorabilia of years ago.
