Do you believe in ghosts? The Mid Ohio Valley Players do! MOVP will make you a believer too with Night of Fright, their Halloween offering to the valley. The production is live one weekend, Oct. 22 and 23 at 8:00 p.m. and will air as an encore performance that will be streamed on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 8:00 p.m. The Night of Fright has ghosts of all kind. The evening starts with theatre ghost stories as t the audience is introducedto the Players Theatre’s resident ghost, Mr. Shea followed by Poe’s Conquer Worm. Night of Fright then turns to the supernatural with an Appalachian ghost story, Rawhead and Bloody Bones. Act 1 ends with a Chamber Theatre adaptation of Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Act II celebrates the power of the imagination and the WMOVP crew who kept us entertained with social distance theatre during the pandemic lockdown when the theatre was unable to open. Two original radio plays by playwright, Will Anderson bring dimensions of psychological horror and the supernatural to stage.
Anderson’s The Lost Dog starring Sandia Sommer and Ashton Michael starts with a dark and stormy night, adds things that go bump in the night, and ends with, well you’ll have to go to the show to find out. Next up, Anderson’s Four Bros in a Deer Camp, featuring Caleb Bland, George Gaston, Mark Abicht, David Schiemann, Sarah Rose Drake, Kirk McCall, and Eliz Kinser, is a cautionary tale of a ghost done wrong and the consequences of disturbing the dead. Act II and the evening ends with another WMOVP favorite the Creepy Cemetery episode from Father Knows Best. Tickets are $10.00
