The Castle presents Virtual Third Thursday Talk: “Her Life in Letters: Angilique Martin” By Linda Lockhart.  Angelique Le Petit Martin, a well-educated native of France and successful teacher in England, arrived at Tupperford Farm, in Marietta, when her husband Gilles brought their family west in 1833 to escape the cholera epidemic in New York City. Join us in an exploration of Angelique’s life and how writing empowered her participation in   public discourse and activism at a time when women were mostly regarded as incapable of self-directed action. Thursday, April 15  7:00 – 8pm This virtual offering is free.
