Campus Martius Museum


Marietta, OH (January 22, 2014) – The Campus Martius Museum will be hosting some of the finest artisans who specialize in recreating the tools and weapons of frontier settlers. The show will be on February 8, from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. and will allow those in attendance to experience 200 years in American gun making tradition.

There will be demonstrations on various techniques used by gun artisans throughout history and lectures given by the current artisans about their work.

A special presentation of the exhibit will be daylong demonstrations in the art of barrel rifling using 18th and early 19th century techniques.

Several original rifling machines will be on display at the event and a number of vendors will be on hand to offer their wares. These merchants will include gunsmiths, powder horn and hunting bag makers.
