The Ohio Valley Opry will be having their second annual Backyard BBQ Show on August 16th. This year the show will be held at the Morgan County Fairgrounds under the grand stand. A dinner of pulled pork with all the trimmings will be served starting at 5pm, and the show will begin at the the usual time of 7pm. The OVO, nearing 8 years in existence, features the finest in Traditional Country, Gospel, and Bluegrass music in the valley. The Opry has been the largest monthly tourist draw to Morgan County in it's history. They often perform to sell out shows at the home stage at the Opera House theater. "The Backyard BBQ show will be awesome!" says spokesperson, Deana Clark. "We had a lot of fun having an outside show last year, so we decided to do it again, but at a much larger venue. The fairgrounds should be the perfect place for the show, with lots of parking and seating for several hundred." On the lineup will be country singer Bobby Kirl, from Parkersburg, WV; JR Stull from Newcomerstown; The Clark Family from Hackney, Tom and Carol Wriston from Davisville, WV, and many others. "Also Uncle Doofus, the resident comedian will be on stage, keeping us in stitches as usual," says Clark. Tickets for the show will be $7 at the door, $8 for special reserved seats. Dinners will be available for a $6. Advanced tickets for the dinner are not necesarry, but encouraged. For more information call the OVO at 740-558-2283, or log onto www.ohiovalleyopry.com |
