Come to Marietta, Ohio for the 35th celebration of the Sternwheel festival. The weekend after Labor Day, sternwheelers arrive in Marietta, home of the American Sternwheel Association and home to two sternwheelers on the National Register of Historic Places.

Warm memories are made in Marietta, Ohio, home of the Ohio River Sternwheel Festival. One by one, from up river and down, the sternwheelers arrive in Marietta, Ohio, home of the American Sternwheel Association. They come to The Riverboat Town, to have some good ol' fashioned fun at the event of the year - the Ohio River Sternwheel Festival!
No admission fee for the festival, and the atmosphere is fun and friendly. Marietta invites you to "come early and stay late." Enjoy the continuous weekend entertainment, choose refreshments from the especially vendors and enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of the Annual Ohio River Sternwheel Festival! It's always the weekend after Labor Day.

The 35th Annual Ohio River Sternwheel Festival - September 10, 11, and 12, 2010
Free parking available at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Shuttle buses will run as follows: 5:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m., Friday; 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m., Saturday; 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Sunday. Shuttle buses leave every half hour from the corner of Monroe Street and Front Street (Mahone Tire Service) to the Fairgrounds. Buses also stop at the Valley Gem parking lot.
FREE HOTEL SHUTTLE service is provided to visitors staying in the following hotels: Best Western, Comfort Inn, Days Inn, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, Lafayette Hotel, and Super 8. Ask the front desk clerk at a participating hotel for a weekend shuttle pass and details. Shuttles will operate Friday, September 11, from 4 p.m. to Midnight and Saturday, September 12, 10:00 a.m. - Midnight. The participating hotels and the Marietta, Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau have provided this service.
Visitor information services, provided by the Marietta, Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, will be located at the information tent on the Ohio River; at their main office in the Putnam Commons on Putnam Street, and at the Tourist Information Center located in the Kroger Shopping Plaza at Pike and Acme Streets.
Sunrise Service on Sunday, will be held at 8:00 a.m. aboard the Festival barge, with the audience on the riverbank.
Programs are to be sold on the levee.
Children's activities will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Gazebo on Ohio Street.
Car Show will be held on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Second and Greene Streets.
Arts, Crafts and Shopping will be held at the parking lots of Second and Greene Sts. Hours to be from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Saturday and 10:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
A First Aid Booth will be available to assist anyone needing to get out of the heat or need medical attention. It is located in the parking lot next to The Levee House. The Marietta Fire Department will also be on hand for anyone needing to be transported to a local hospital.
Official Sternwheel parking is available on Friday and Saturday only, and is located on Second Street, between Butler and Greene Streets and on Greene Street, between Butler and Greene Streets and on Greene Street, between Second and Third Streets. Free handicap parking is also available. ALL OTHER PARKING is $5.00.
No pets are permitted within the Festival grounds.
No boarding of Sternwheelers is permitted unless permission is given from the Captains.
