Jeri Knowlton

Executive Director

In June of 2011, Jeri completed a Professional Master’s in Business Administration from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio. Graduating magna cum laude in 2002, her undergraduate degree from Concord University, Athens, W. Va., was in communication arts, with a minor in public relations and advertising.

Jeri began her professional career in journalism and has two West Virginia Press Association awards – third place best lifestyle columnist and third place best news feature.  As a media and marketing specialist for WorkForce West Virginia, she covered the 11 southeastern counties of the state. Her work with the YES! Program’s “Tipping Point” project earned her another state award from the Workforce West Virginia program.  

Jeri moved to the Mid-Ohio Valley in 2005 where she worked for the advertising agency, Lockney and Associates, and for Washington State Community College. She received a gold place award from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations for a print ad campaign done during her tenure as director of marketing for Washington State Community College. The accomplishment she is most proud of is building a cohesive brand for the college with the Step In. Step Up. Stand Out campaign.

Jeri strives to provide positive solutions for everyday opportunities. According to Jeri, “Serving Marietta-Washington County is a tremendous opportunity to inspire others to experience for themselves what we all know and love about the Mid-Ohio Valley.”

Trey Fairchild

Multimedia Coordinator

Trey originally worked for the bureau as a freelance graphic designer, but joined the staff full-time in May of 2012.  His position as Multi Media Coordinator includes creating all advertisements, managing the Web site, design and layout of CVB publications and working to grow the CVB's presence on YouTube.

Trey and his family moved to the Mid-Ohio Valley in 1998. He graduated from Fairmont State University (Fairmont, WV) in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Technology. Prior to joining the CVB, Trey worked as a graphic designer for S.W. Graphics in Parkersburg, WV and most recently as the Web Coordinator for Washington State Community College.

Since working with the CVB, Trey has recieved multiple awards for his work on the Visitors Guide, Web Site and Print Advertisements. "There is so much around this area that people might not know about. I'm excited to put my skills to use promoting our region."

Christian Hudspeth

Public Relations & Social Media Coordinator

Christian joined the visitor's bureau in November of 2013 as the Public Relations & Social Media Coordinator. Christian's current responsibilities include overseeing all of the Marietta-Washington County Visitors Bureau's social media platforms along with managing all of the public and media relations.

Christian graduated from Marietta College with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism in May of 2012. At school, he was a founding member of the Society for Collegiate Journalists and was a writer for the school paper, The Marcolian. Before joining the bureau, Christian worked as a reporter for the Marietta Times.

As someone who grew up in Marietta, Christian is thrilled about the opportunity to promote it and the rest of Washington County. "I love that I'm going to be able to give back to the area because it has provided me with so many wonderful experiences as I've grown over the years."

Shannon Beacham

Member Relations & Group Tour Coordinator

Shannon joined the visitor’s bureau in September of 2012 as an information specialist then later promoted to Member Relations and Group Tour Coordinator. Shannon’s duties include maintaining a great relationship with the CVB 140 plus members, scheduling group tours of Marietta-Washington Country area, and promoting Marietta-Washington Country as a distinctive destination.

Shannon graduated from Washington State Community College in June 2012 with an associate's degree in Applied Business along with several certificates. Shannon remained a member of the Dean’s List every quarter during her time as WSCC.

A Marietta native, Shannon says she loves showing people what is so special about Marietta and Washington County. "There is so much more to Marietta and Washington County than meets the eye. I love being able to open up people to new and exciting things in the area that people don’t realize is in their own back yard."

Sammie Brandjes

Information Specialist

Sammie joined the visitor's bureau in May of 2013 as an Information Specialist. Sammie's primary responsibilities are greeting guests and helping them obtain information about Marietta and Washington County.

Sammie graduated from Ohio University in 2009 with a degree in English. She was also very involved with the community band programs. Before joining the visitor bureau staff, Sammie worked as a banquet supervisor and sales assistant at the Lafayette Hotel.

As a native of Marietta, Sammie loves the rich history and Victorian elements of her hometown. "I really enjoy talking to people and learning new things, especially about my own area. Marietta has so much to offer and I look forward to sharing these things with tourists and locals."
