Step Into the past with a self-guided walking tour of Victorian grandeur.  These were the homes of some of the most influential figures in West Virginia's early history. Join us for self guided walking tours, garden tours and our special Christmas Tour in December.

Instrumental in West Virginia's early statehood, the historic city of Parkersburg grew rapidly with the development of the oil and gas industry following the Civil War.  Just north of the burgeoning downtown, in the area encompassing Juliana and Ann Streets along with their connecting side roads, leaders of the community - bankers, businessmen, professionals, and political figures - began constructing the finest homes of the time, employing the lastest styles and using the finest materials available. The entire Julia-Ann Square Historic District was placed on the National Register of Historic Place in 1977.

Step back to the turn of the 20th Century, when aromatic gardens set a backdrop for elegant living and Christmas celebrations highlighted the calendar every year.  Our annual Summer Garden Tour and Victorian Christmas Tour open a window to the past and celebrate the lives and times of many who shaped the course of West Virginia's early history.  Visit our historical district's website at www.juliannsquare.org for schedules and ticket information, or call us at 304-485-2584 for details.
